Last entry of the course

Hello everyone!!! Today is my last entry, FOR THE MOMENT! To summarize everything that I have learned during all this time I have created a presentation and added my audio in order to explain everything correctly and clearly. The tools used for this last project had been Canva (I LOVE IT!), my Iphone's "Audio Recording" tool and Imovie, an app that comes with Apple device. And last but not least I uploaded to Youtube so everyone can see it.

I hope you enjoy it :)

AuPair experience

Hello again!

It looks like today is the official video day jajaj.

In this post I am going to share a video about my AuPair experience. In order to do so, I recorded myself with my phone and latter on I upload my video to Flipgrid. Flipgrid is a website in which you can upload your own video and at the same time see tons of videos from different people around the world, something that I found very interesting, because in that way you can connect to people who are in the other side of the world!

I decided to record my video about my AuPair experience because it is something that has marked me forever, I even have a tattoo to remember about it my whole life!

As I explain in the video, I was an AuPair for almost two years and it had been the best two years of my life. I met a lot of people from different sides of the world, I discovered myself and I travelled like I have never travelled before. So if you are adventurous and like kids it is a fantastic opportunity for you.

Here I leave my video talking about my personal experience. Enjoy!!

Video Project part II

Good morning everyone!!

As I explained in the previous post along with my fantastic colleagues we have been working on a project for Women's day and the final product was a vide.  I already explained how we did the draft, the comic and the scrip. Now is time to show you the result, but first I am going to explain the process for creating it.

First of all, the video starts with a video-call, and in order to record this we used Zoom because the tool itself allows you to record the video. Later on, each one of us appear explaining the different women and something is different with the background, can you guess what? YES! the backgrounds are not our houses but different scenarios according to the women we are talking about. And to do so we used a tool called TC Studio. This tool has its good sides and downsides. The good sides are that it is really easy to use it, it allow you to choose different settings and you can also put the setting to an already recorded video. But the downside is that it only works on an Ipad, so you need one of these or in exchange know someone who owns it.

Once all the clips are recorded and the correct scenario is set it is time to put all the videos together and do magic jajaja. To do so we used Imovie, an app that Apple products have. In here you can put all the videos together, cut them, add them sound effects... it is like paradise!

To finish, we upload the video to a Youtube channel, in this case Paloma's Youtube channel. We decided to upload it just to one channel because in this way it would have more visits.

Finally, HERE IS THE RESULT! I hope you like it :)

Video Project (Part I)

Good morning everybody!! I hope you are enjoying your walks or your time to practice sport these days.

Today I am here to bring you a collaborative work that I have done with my colleagues Maria, Paloma and Tania.  We made a video! Yes, after all this time you would be able to see our faces and more things!

Well, where do I start... I guess from the beginning. First of all, we started drafting and discussing about the topic that we would want to show the world, what is it gonna be about, are we gonna appear in the video, are we gonna do puppets... after several minutes discussing this we decided to make a video related to women in science, as we think it is important to know some of women that make the world how we know it nowadays.

This project will take place during women's day week, that is, if women's da is March 8, this project will take place during the week March 2-8.

We decided that each one of us will take a famous woman and talk about her discoveries and the important things they did to change the world. We took the following ones: Marie Curie, Hedy Lamarr, Frida Kahlo and Dian Fossey.

In order to know how are we going to do the video we did a Story board so people can make an idea on how the video is going to be. And once we decided how the video was going to be we started looking for information about each one of the women and we did a scrip so that each of us well say kind of the same in the same order.

So as to do the Story Board at the beginning we thought of using the tool that has its own name, but to reflect what we had in mind it was a little bit difficult, so what we did was to take the idea from that and using Canva (another amazing tool, if you don't know of its existence, you should check it), Bitmoji (I already talk about in on this post) and Google Docs. We use Bitmoji to characterize ourselves, Canva to do the storyboard and Google Docs to put everything in there.

This is the result of our work,

As I told you before, this is the first part... WAIT UNTIL YOU SEE THE VIDEO, IT WILL BE AMAZING!!

SEE YOU NEXT TIME!

Podcast

Good morning/afternoon!

Anyway, today I am here to show you my podcast and the steps made for it.

First of all I decided that I wanted to do my podcast about a book. As I am an Infant Education teachers books are very frequent and useful. This time I have taken a wordless book, yes, as the word itself says it doesn't have any words. The advantage I see about this type of books is that every time you read it, you can give a different intonation, you can use different words or you can even let the students "read" it based on the images.

In this case, I have put the words into the pictures, that is, for every page of the book I have created a sentence or sentences. In this way, it was easier to me to have it as a base while recording the audio. Here is the introduction and the story done by myself.

Once I have all the story made, I recorded my voice, I did this with an app from my phone called "Voice Memos". It is a simple app where you can record your voice and later edited if you want to cut part of it.  Later, I upload this file into the speaker website. Of course, in order to do this you have to create a profile and once you have created it you can make your own playlist. In my case I have named the playlist "PANCAKES FOR BREAKFAST" as this is the name of the book.

I hope you enjoy the audio! See you next time.

Creating an Infographic

Hello everyone!!

Today I am here to explain you another fantastic resource as it is an Infographic. For those who don't know what it is, here is the definition according to Wikipedia:  Infographics are graphic visual representations of information, data or knowledge intended to present information quickly an clearly.

Therefore, as the definition says it has to be very graphic, that it, it has to include images in a clear way without distracting the attention from the text. So it has to be understandable and the images has to make reference to the text that they are next to.

There are different tools to do this Infographics but in my case I chose Canva. Canva is a tool with which you can do plenty of things, from presentations to your CV passing trough posters and of course infographics. With Canva is really easy to do these things because the tool itself gives you several different templetes to choose from. Once you have chosen the one that fits best for what you are doing, you can change the background, add more things, change the color...

If my explanations aren't enough go and try it by yourself!!

But before... HERE IS MY INFOGRAPHIC. I decided to do it about the planets as I like the theme and personally, it is something that seeing it visually can help students understand the content better.

Trying to do Mind Maps online!

Hello everybody!

Today I am here to talk about mind maps. After searching for different apps to do mind maps finally I have decided to do it with creately. I have decided to do it with this app for several reasons. First of all, because it is really easy to use it, and for me that I am use to doing mind maps by hand it's an advantage.

Furthermore, I found it really useful because you can add as many pictures as you want, change them, do them bigger or smaller... that is, you can put it in the way that is best for you. With this app you can also change the color of the text or the color of the boxes. In my case as I have done it about the water, I've used different blue color-scheme so it is easy to differentiate the different levels of the mind map.

Regarding the arrows inside the mind map, this can be changed too, I mean, you can choose to draw a normal arrow, more elaborate arrows or just a line. Which is a plus because in this way when you want to use just a line because you don't find necessary an arrow you can put it.

Anyhow, that is all I have to say about this app. If you try it, let me know so we can learn from each other.

P.S. Here I leave you my own mind map. Hope its useful :)
